Ferguson & Ferguson - Some Bridges

Ferguson & Ferguson "Some Bridges" EP is now available on CDBaby, Amazon and iTunes. Including five original songs and one classic number, the recording features performances by Ron Stewart and Mark Schatz and was engineered by George Hodgkiss.

Here is what noted musicologist Jack Bernhardt says about "Some Bridges:"

"Bluegrass fans and fans of good music generally, may want to check out Ferguson and Ferguson, 'Some Bridges.' Although they claim no genealogical nexus, Gary Gene Ferguson and Gary Alan Ferguson connect through music in ways that have brought acclaim for their six-song CD, “Some Bridges.” Acoustic and, for the most part bluegrass artists, the two Garys contribute original songs that also venture into swing (“Chase Away the Blues”) and blues (“Walking Boss”).  Both musicians are seasoned veterans whose performance and/or writing credits include the Gary (Gene) Ferguson Band, Claire Lynch, and John Starling. Gary Gene’s 'Last Day at Gettysburg' was a hit for Larry Sparks. This six-pack home brew epitomizes thoughtful lyrics, soulful melodies, emotive vocals, and compelling arrangements."

The Hula Monsters

Hawaiian swing, rockabilly, western swing, and roots rock!

Founded in 1988 by Dave Giegerich, Moe Nelson and Tom Mitchell, the award-winning Hula Monsters can be described as a rockin’ swing band with a Hawaiian flavor. Their repertoire includes swing, rockabilly, blues, country, jazz and Hawaiian standards - all with the signature Hula Monster Hawaiian accent. The band features Moe Nelson on upright bass, harmonica, ukulele and vocals, Mark Noone on guitar, ukulele and vocals, Ben Holmes on drums, percussion and vocals, Gary Ferguson on lead guitar and vocals and Lynn Kasdorf on steel guitar and vocals.

The Hula Monsters L-R: Mark Noone, Lynn Kasdorf, Moe Nelson, Gary Ferguson and Ben Holmes.

They are a band of accomplished professional musicians who can tailor their vast repertoire to each event’s unique needs – be it a rockin’ dance set, quiet instrumental jazz standards, old-school country, some rowdy western swing or a Hawaiian luau.  In a concert, festival or music club setting, the band will draw from all of these themes to really mix it up!  It may be difficult to categorize their music, but the common thread is fun!

"One of the best bands in the world." - The Washington Post

“You gotta love the Hula Monsters. They¹ve established one of the most novel sounds in the city..." - The Baltimore Sun
